They Were Travelling Normally… Until Their Train Suddenly Caught Fire!

What started as a normal train journey suddenly turned into an emergency for passengers aboard the Amritsar–New Jalpaiguri Karmabhoomi Express (Train No. 12508).
A massive fire was reported near Sarai Banjara, close to Rajpura in Punjab’s Patiala district.
According to initial reports, the fire broke out in a general coach. Some reports claimed that as many as four coaches were affected, although the exact extent of the fire remains to be confirmed.
⚠️ CASUALTY UPDATE: Reports about injuries remain conflicting. Northern Railway officials reportedly stated that there was no confirmed information about casualties or injuries at the time of the initial reports.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
This incident raises serious questions about railway fire safety, emergency preparedness and passenger protection.
