This is a side of Goa you donβt really see on Instagram
We drove out from Panjim into a quiet village in Ponda, and arrived at Savoi Plantation, and almost instantly, everything slowed down.
This isnβt about just visiting a place. Itβs about being hosted, about being looked after, and honestlyβ¦ being fed like a hungry child.
We started with a shot of urak, and then went on a slow walk through the plantation. Everywhere you look, thereβs something growing, pepper vines curling around trees, nutmeg hanging just above your head, fruits youβve probably never come across before. And through it all, someone patiently walks you through everything, with utmost passion.
What really stayed with me is how personal it felt. Nothing about this experience feels staged or commercial. It feels like youβve been invited into someoneβs home, and theyβre simply sharing their world with you.
And then comes the food.
A traditional GSB meal with over 15 dishes, served in the middle of all that greenery. Itβs simple, deeply comforting, and easily one of the most satisfying meals Iβve had.
