अशा परिस्थितीत त्यांच्या मुलीने, ममता शिवतारे लांडे यांनी पुढाकार घेत वडिलांना किडनी दान करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला. सोमवारी मुंबईतील एका खासगी रुग्णालयात किडनी प्रत्यारोपण शस्त्रक्रिया यशस्वीरीत्या पार पडली.
