How to Use the Jumper Cable Clamps Safely:
Connect Red Clamp to Dead Battery (+) Attach the red clamp (1) to the positive terminal (+) of the dead battery (breakdown car).Connect Red Clamp to Power Supply Battery (+) Connect the red clamp (2) to the positive terminal (+) of the power supply battery (powered car).Connect Black Clamp to Power Supply Battery (−) Attach the black clamp (3) to the negative terminal (−) of the power supply battery.Connect Black Clamp to Metal Part of Dead Car (−) Finally, clamp the black clamp (4) to an unpainted metal surface of the dead car (away from the battery), like a bolt or bracket. This acts as a grounding point to prevent sparks
Important Notes:
Do not connect the last black clamp directly to the dead battery’s negative terminal.Once connected properly, start the engine of the powered car first, then try starting the dead car.Remove the clamps in reverse order after use.
