Keerla saannapolo/Tender Bamboo shoots Spicy dosa❤️:-
This little spicy saannapolo is served as a side dish with rice and hot dalitoy
Ingredients :
1cup rice
1 cup chopped keerla neeli/ bamboo shoots
8-10 dry red chillies
A marble sized ball of tamarind
1/2 tsp of asafoetida/hing
Salt to taste
Oil as required
Recipe :
Drain the water from the soaked keerlu and squeeze the excess water and keep the keerlu aside.
Wash and Soak the rice for 1-2 hours
Grind the rice, red chillies, asafoetida and tamarind to a dry paste (not very smooth paste) Add little water while grinding.
Remove the paste, add the chopped keerla neeli/ pieces. Add salt for fresh keerlu (but if brined add salt only if required👇 )and mix. Add very little water to get a thick consistency batter
Heat an iron tava, apply coconut oil and spread a thick saannapolo(dosa) and pat with your fingers. Pour a little oil and cover with a lid and cook on a slow flame. After 5-6 minutes flip the sannapolo and cook on both the sides till crisp adding coconut oil on the edges and at the centre.
Serve hot.

1.If the bamboo shoots/ *keerla neeli is fresh*, it has to *be soaked in water for 2-3 days .The water has to be changed daily.* This will help in removing the smell and bitterness of the keerlu/ bamboo shoots.
2. *If keerlu is brined* but not very fres #gsb #recipes #authentic h then soak it for 1-2 hrs only
Drain it. Excess salt will be removed.
Please adjust salt carefully as brined bamboo shoots already have salt. Taste the mixture before adding more salt
