सोमवार, 22 सितंबर से भारत के इनडायरेक्ट टैक्सेशन सिस्टम में बड़े बदलाव हो गए हैं. टैरिफ अनिश्चितताओं के बीच इकोनॉमी को बढ़ावा देने के लिए कम से कम 375 प्रोडक्ट्स पर से जीएसटी (वस्तु एवं सेवा कर) में कटौती की जा रही है. भारत भर के कंज्यूमर्स को राहत देते हुए देश की वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने जीएसटी काउंसिल की 56वीं मीटिंग में टैक्स की 4 स्लैब को कम कर 2 कर दिया था. इस जीएसटी रिफॉर्म के बाद 5 और 18 फीसदी जीएसटी स्लैब ही रहेंगी.

India’s indirect taxation system underwent major changes effective Monday, September 22nd. GST (Goods and Services Tax) is being reduced on at least 375 products to boost the economy amid tariff uncertainty. Providing relief to consumers across India, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reduced the tax slabs from four to two at the 56th meeting of the GST Council. Following this GST reform, the 5% and 18% GST slabs will remain.
There will be a special 40% tax slab, which includes luxury and sin products. Nearly 99% of items under the 12% GST slab have been moved to the 5% tax slab. This change also means that 90% of products under the 28% tax slab have been moved to the 18% tax slab
