India’s 56th GST Council has slashed GST on motorcycles under 350cc and scooters under 124cc from 28% to 18%, giving a direct benefit to middle-class buyers. Popular bikes like Hero Splendor, Honda Shine, Bajaj Pulsar, TVS Apache and Yamaha FZ-S Fi have become cheaper by ₹5,000–₹13,000. Scooters like Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter, Suzuki Access and Hero Maestro Edge have also seen price cuts of ₹5,000–₹7,000. However, premium bikes above 350cc have seen price hikes as GST moved to 40%. Models like Bajaj Dominar, Triumph Speed 400, KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield 650 twins and Honda NX500 have become costlier by ₹18,000–₹55,000. This shift is expected to boost sales in the mass segment ahead of the festive season.
