Ghost Rider (2007) tells the story of Johnny Blaze, a fearless motorcycle stunt rider who makes a desperate deal with the devil to save his father’s life. As a young man, Johnny sells his soul to Mephistopheles, unknowingly binding himself to a dark supernatural fate. As Ghost Rider, Johnny discovers his supernatural abilities, including a flaming chain and the terrifying Penance Stare, which forces sinners to feel the pain they have inflicted on others. Struggling to control the curse, he seeks guidance from a mysterious graveyard caretaker who was once a former Ghost Rider. Meanwhile, Johnny reconnects with his childhood love, Roxanne Simpson, who begins to uncover his dark secret. Blackheart kidnaps Roxanne to force Johnny into surrendering the contract. Faced with an impossible choice, Johnny fully embraces his identity as Ghost Rider to protect the woman he loves. In a climactic battle, he defeats Blackheart using the Penance Stare, destroying him once and for all. Mephistopheles offers to release Johnny from the curse, but Johnny refuses, choosing instead to use his power against evil. The film ends with Johnny riding into the night, accepting his destiny as a supernatural antihero bound to eternal vengeance.
