ईरान की जंग में सीजफायर तो है लेकिन सुलह नहीं हो रही. झड़पें भी हो रही हैं लेकिन जंग नहीं हो रही…इन्हीं झडपों के बीच बात भी हो रही है लेकिन बात बन नहीं रही. नतीजा ये है कि होर्मुज वैसे ही अटका पड़ा है…तेल के दाम बढ़ते जा रहे हैं…ऊपर से कभी ईरान के ऊपर तो कभी ईरान की ओर से हमलों की खबरें भी आ रही हैं. ट्रम्प सोचते हैं कि अमेरिकी ब्लॉकेड जब तक रहेगा तब तक ईरान की हालत पतली होती रहेगी…लेकिन असर कुछ ऐसा हो रहा है कि होर्मुज जब तक बंद रहेगा…तब तक दुनिया में हाहाकार बढ़ता रहेगा. और इसी दुनिया में अमेरिका भी है जहां ट्रम्प की जेब भी अब तेल संकट में जलने लगी है. होर्मुज बंद होने के कारण दुनिया को रोज 1 करोड 30 लाख बैरल कम तेल मिल पा रहा है जो दुनिया की एनर्जी सप्लाई का 13 फीसदी होता है.हालांकि अमेरिका रोज 1 करोड़ 40 लाख बैरल का तेल निर्यात भी कर रहा है इसका नतीजा है कि अमेरिका का घरेलू भंडार 2005 के बाद सबसे निचले स्तर पर पहुंच गया है.
In the conflict involving Iran, a ceasefire is technically in place, yet no genuine reconciliation is taking place. Skirmishes are occurring, but full-scale war has not broken out. Amidst these very skirmishes, dialogue is underway—yet no resolution is being reached. The result is that the Strait of Hormuz remains in a state of deadlock; oil prices continue to climb; and, compounding the situation, reports of attacks—sometimes directed *at* Iran, and at other times launched *by* Iran—keep surfacing. Trump believes that as long as the U.S. blockade remains in effect, Iran’s economic situation will continue to deteriorate. However, the actual impact is proving to be quite different: as long as the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, global turmoil will only intensify. And the United States, too, is part of this world—a world where the oil crisis is now beginning to hit Trump right in the pocket. Due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the global supply is falling short by 13 million barrels of oil per day—accounting for 13 percent of the world’s total energy supply. Although the United States is currently exporting 14 million barrels of oil daily, the consequence is that America’s domestic reserves have plummeted to their lowest levels since 2005.
