दिल्ली में कल होने वाले प्रदर्शन से पहले राजधानी में विरोध और पाबंदियों को लेकर बड़ा विवाद खड़ा हो गया है। मामला अब सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहुंच गया है, जहां वरिष्ठ वकीलों ने सवाल उठाया कि क्या किसी प्रदर्शन को रोकने के लिए पूरी दिल्ली की आवाजाही पर इतनी व्यापक पाबंदियां लगाई जा सकती हैं? दरअसल, CJP ने मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त के खिलाफ जवाबदेही की मांग को लेकर 10 अक्टूबर को जंतर-मंतर पर प्रदर्शन का ऐलान किया है। लेकिन दिल्ली पुलिस ने आयोजकों को अनुमति देने से इनकार कर दिया है। पुलिस का कहना है कि प्रदर्शन की सूचना 10 दिन पहले देनी होती है लेकिन ये जानकारी 7 अक्टूबर को दी गई है जिससे मौजूदा सुरक्षा और कानून-व्यवस्था की स्थिति को देखते हुए अनुमति नहीं दी जा सकती। इसी बीच, रेलवे ने भी बड़ा कदम उठाया है। रेलवे के मुताबिक, 10 अक्टूबर को सुबह 4 बजे से दोपहर 2 बजे के बीच नई दिल्ली और हजरत निजामुद्दीन रेलवे स्टेशन पहुंचने वाली कई मेल और एक्सप्रेस ट्रेनों को उनके शुरुआती स्टेशनों से ही रद्द किया गया है।
A major controversy has erupted in the capital regarding protests and restrictions ahead of a demonstration scheduled for tomorrow in Delhi. The matter has now reached the Supreme Court, where senior lawyers have questioned whether such sweeping restrictions on movement across the entire city can be imposed to prevent a protest. CJP has announced a protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10 to demand accountability from the Chief Election Commissioner; however, the Delhi Police has denied permission to the organizers. The police state that while notice for a protest must be given 10 days in advance, the information was provided only on October 7, making it impossible to grant permission given the prevailing security and law-and-order situation. Meanwhile, the Railways has also taken significant action; several mail and express trains scheduled to arrive at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations between 4:00 AM and 2:00 PM on October 10 have been cancelled at their originating stations.
