Rulawa bhakri/ Sajjige roti / Semolina bhakri with home made loni ( butter)✨️
A no onion no garlic recipe❤️
Basic Ingredients
½ cup Lapshi rawa( bansi rawa – grains not too big)
1 ripe banana
1 Green chilli,
1small piece Ginger
5 tbspns Fresh grated coconut
Jaggery/ sugar to balance the taste
Little loni (home made butter) for
Little Ghee
Salt to taste
Aanu(my dad)also adds the following for a healthier version
1 tspn Rolled oats
1 tspn amaranth seeds ( rajgeera)
1 tspn flax seeds
A few peanuts
Recipe
Crush ginger and chilli with a pestle.
Now in a kolmbi/ wooden mortar or a bowl, mash the banana, add crushed ginger, chilli, coconut gratings, little loni, jaggery, salt , *oats, rajgeera, flax seeds, a few peanuts* and rawa. mix well Add some water, prepare a thick batter. Cover and keep aside. Rest it for 15-20 mins. Add more water if you feel it is dry.
Heat a tawa, apply ghee then put a fistful of the thick batter on the tawa, pat it with your fingers . Cook slowly on both the sides till both sides turn golden brown and crispy outside.
( if banana leaf is available , u can put the batter on the leaf and then on the tawa for cooking)
This charchari bhajjili bhakri which is crispy outside but soft inside tastes yummy with generous amount of fresh loni ( home made butter) and tea/ coffee.
Note: You can also add fine rawa or use only fine rawa instead of bansi rawa. Resting period will be only 10 mins for fine rawa as it has very thin grains.
