Tamil Nadu Industries Minister S Keerthana said alternative industrial projects will be implemented on the acquired lands for scrapped Parandur Airport, without affecting the people. She said by doing so, industrial growth, employment opportunities, and economic development will occur in this region.
Keerthana questioned why was fertile land for Parandur Airport was acquired. She said farmers have been cultivating rice and other crops across three seasons: Samba, Thaladi, and Sornavari there. She also informed that thousands of metric tons of rice are supplied annually to the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation by the farmers there.
