Detailed Recipe:
Ingredients:
Dosa rice – 2 cups
Fenugreek seeds – 1tsp
Urid dal – 1 fistful
Thick poha – 1 fistful
Puffed Paddy – 2 fistful
Grated jaggery – 2 cups ( adjust according to your sweetness)
Grated coconut – 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
— Soak rice, dal, poha and methi in a vessel for at least 3 hours.
— Soak puffed paddy in a seperate bowl for 30mins.
— In a wet grinder, add grated jaggery, rice, urid dal, fenugreek seeds and poha and grind without adding any water.
— Once all the ingredients are half ground, add grated coconut and puff paddy and ground until batter is smooth.
— At last add turmeric powder to the batter.
— Transfer the batter to the vessel and close the lid.
— Next day adjust the consistency and start making dosas.
Surnali dosa is now ready to be served. Enjoy it with butter on top and hot coffee.
