Traditional GSB Maska Sanga Thalasan – A Taste of Heritage!

My fav GSB dish!!! ❤️

Maska Sanga Talasan – A Traditional GSB Drumstick Recipe with Rava & Coconut Oil!!

This is one of those quintessential GSB dishes, humble ingredients, slow cooking, big flavour. Made with drumsticks, coconut oil, and semolina, this Talasan is simple, but it needs patience.

What goes in:
• ½ kg drumsticks
• ½ cup coconut oil
• ¾ tsp turmeric powder
• 1½ tbsp red chilli powder
• Salt to taste
• 1 cup sooji (semolina or rava)

Sauté the drumsticks in coconut oil with the spices. Add the rava and slow roast it on low-medium flame. Stir patiently for about 30 minutes till the drumsticks are tender and everything’s coated and cooked.

Serve it hot with simple dal-rice or eat it just like that.
