🧂 Ingredients:
Chickpeas (chole) – 1 cup (soaked overnight)
Onion – 2 (finely chopped)
Tomato – 3 (pureed)
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Green chili – 2
Oil – 3 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Bay leaf – 1
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Chole masala – 2 tsp
Salt – as per taste
Tea bag – 1 (for dark color, optional)
Water – as needed
Fresh coriander – for garnish
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
🔥 Method:
Soak chole overnight, then pressure cook with salt & tea bag (for color) till soft.
Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds & bay leaf.
Add chopped onions and cook till golden brown.
Add ginger-garlic paste & green chili, sauté well.
Add tomato puree and cook until oil separates.
Add all spices (turmeric, red chili, coriander powder, chole masala).
Add boiled chole + little water, mix well.
Simmer for 15–20 minutes on low flame.
Mash a few chole for thick gravy.
Finish with lemon juice & coriander.
