Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government has announced a new policy to make daily newspaper reading compulsory in all state-run schools.
Under this move, students in both primary and secondary schools are now required to spend a few minutes each day reading physical newspapers during their morning assembly or class time. The aim of the policy is to revive interest in print newspapers, improve students’ reading habits, boost their awareness of current events, and strengthen language and comprehension skills among young learners.
