In a bizarre turn of events during the parishad elections in Bapatla district, YSRCP Pitlavanipalem ZPTC candidate Shaik Moulali accidentally withdrew his nomination. Having filed two sets of nomination papers with a deposit of ₹3,000 each (₹6,000 total), he approached officials to withdraw the second set to reclaim ₹3,000. Under election rules, signing the withdrawal form led to the cancellation of his entire candidacy, disqualifying him from contesting.
