Ishan Kishan’s incredible knock and Suryakumar Yadav’s first fifty in 23 innings meant that India absolutely demolished New Zealand in Raipur on Friday, January 23. Kishan scored 76 off 32 balls and Suryakumar remained unbeaten on 82 as India won the second T20I by 7 wickets to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
India completed the run-chase in 15.2 overs, a world record for the quickest time taken to chase down a 200-plus score by a full-member team in the format. They beat the record set by Pakistan in 2025 against New Zealand in 16 overs. India also chased down a 200-plus target for the very first time under Gautam Gambhir.
